Destination Europe
An interactive role-play tool that encourages debate on migration and brings decision-making at local, national and European level closer.
Migration is a topical but complex subject, and public debate often fails to present different viewpoints in a balanced way. As a result, opinions — especially among young people — are not always well grounded in facts, and teachers may find migration hard to teach. Through role play, the Destination Europe tool introduces users to different aspects of and decisions on migration in a simple and innovative way.
The tool is an interactive platform that encourages debate on migration. Users take on the roles of different actors at local, national and EU level. The aim is to familiarise users with European migration policy through hypothetical scenarios. The scenarios show possible outcomes of migration policy decisions for different groups of migrants — asylum applicants, labour and irregular migrants, and citizens of the EU countries where migrants settle.
The tool is designed for 4–6 people aged 16 and over.
